The bestseller BEAT-400 has now arrived in a new and radically improved
version. The B-400 PLUS.
The most important improvement over the standard B-400 is the all-new
DAC. The B-400 PLUS converter is based on our very highly regarded
reference player, the B-400 XS. Although the PLUS DAC does not incorporate
HDCD, but a 24-bit type, it exceeds the standard B-400 in every
way. A very effective demonstration of this is the fact that the
B-400 PLUS reproduces HDCD CD's in a much higher quality than the
B-400, despite the B-400 offering HDCD capability. Try imagining
the sonic improvement when using non-HDCD discs.... huge.
Other improvements include better CD-readability and better reliability
in general.
The transport itself is custom-made for Densen, with a special glass-optic
laser, and the cabinet is extremely rigid, protecting the mechanism
against airborne vibrations.
The motherboard is built from the ground up by Densen engineers,
and contains upgradable software. Communication between motherboard
and converter is carried out through Densen's own databus which,
together with a highly advanced clock circuitry, ensures that there
is no measurable jitter!
The DA Converter is upgradable and the analog stage is a non-feedback
class A amplifier. The most impressive thing about the BEAT-400
PLUS is, however, the sound...
Update path: The B-400 PLUS can be updated to a B-400XS. The cost
is roughly the same as the price difference between the B-400 PLUS
and the B-400XS. If you have the B-400 it can also be upgraded to
the PLUS version.
