SA 91/SP 991 - Class-A hi-fi amplifier combination Already from
a mechanical point of view the SA 91 is a true high-end component.
The 3-in-1 case is separated in 2 compartments for the left
respectively right channel whereby the 3rd compartment contains
the dual power supply. All in- and outputs are available in
either balanced or unbalanced circuitry. Unbalanced signals,
from a CD player for example, are automatically transformed
into a balanced signal. Two power amplifiers may be connected.
The SP 991 is a power amplifier in monophonic design. This was
necessary because of the already tremendous weight of 30 kg
for each mono-block. The circuitry's layout is balanced. Each
mono-block can be driven via either balanced XLR connectors
or unbalanced RCA jacks. The heart of each block consists of
a toroidal core transformer of 1,500 W, 120,000 µF energy storage
capacity and 24 power transistors from TOSHIBA.
Connections: 3 sources. bi-wiring or 2 speakers. Finish: face
plate black or silver. |
